On Friday morning the Jets announced that due to crowd control issues, overflow and sizing regulations, Winnipeggers wanting to attend the upcoming Winnipeg Whiteout street parties will require tickets upon entrance.
Those tickets – free of charge – were made available at Ticketmaster.ca beginning at noon Friday. In true Winnipeg fashion, it took just under one hour for all 25,000 tickets to sell out for Saturday’s street party. A minuscule amount of tickets remain available for Monday’s festivities.
Gates to the street party open at 4:00 P.M. Saturday. Puck drop is scheduled for 6:00 P.M. central. For those unable to secure free tickets to the outdoor party (or not so free tickets via Kijiji) the game can be viewed live on CBC or Sportsnet.
Once again, Winnipeg Harvest will look to add to the 31,000 pounds of donated food collected so far at the Winnipeg Jets/Manitoba Moose playoff games thus far. With donation bins setup at every arena entrance and scattered throughout the street party, the goal is to beat the incredible 17,500 pounds collected at game six of the second round.
