Cudmore, originally from neighbouring Park River, North Dakota, spent the past two seasons playing for the Winnipeg Blues of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League. Skating alongside recent Lakehead University commit, Dexter Kuczek, Cudmore put up 54 goals and 115 points, along with 135 penalty minutes in 111 games over the course of two seasons in Winnipeg.
Cudmore was also a key cog in the postseason for the Blues, registering seven goals and 11 points in 12 playoff games in the 2018 MJHL playoffs. His 31 goals and 72 points in 60 games placed him seventh in league scoring, behind lineman Kuczek.
In heading to Wisconsin, the speedy forward will join Minnesotan Will Blake and Manitobans Jordan Martin and Coltyn Bates as fellow MJHL players from the 2017-18 season expected to play on the Yellowjackets next year.
The University of Wisconsin Superior plays out of the NCAA’s Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (Division III) and will look to rebound from a handful of subpar seasons. Wisconsin went 9-15-3 in 2017-18.
