Dewar – a product of The Pas, MB. – has spent the entirety of his junior hockey career with Everett. In putting up rather respectable numbers in his first two seasons with the team, the right-handed centerman exploded with 38 goals and 68 points in 68 games in 2017-18, producing at a point-per-game rate for the first time in his junior career.

And not only was he an effective point producer for the SIlvertips in the regular season, he also contributed mightily to Everett’s deep playoff run this past spring. Matching his career high two playoff points by the third game of his opening round matchup with Seattle.

Dewar put together 12 goals and 26 points in 24 postseason contests, ultimately coming up two wins short, falling to the WHL champion Swift Current Broncos in six games in the final. The 18-year-old led the league in playoff plus/minus (+24) and shots on goal 106).

After already being named Everett’s Rookie of the Year in the 2015-16 season and having received the Silvertips’ Iron Man Award, the 5-foot-10, 170-pound Dewar was announced as the team’s Most Dedicated Player this past year.

“It’s a great honor to be named captain of the Everett Silvertips and earn the trust of the coaches for this type of role,” Dewar said. “When you walk into the dressing room and see photos of great players who have worn that ‘C’ and moved on to pro careers and successful lives, it feels very important to uphold that culture they’ve worked hard to establish. Matt Fonteyne, Kevin Davis, and Patrick Bajkov brought the same approach every day in a long-run with the organization; it’s my responsibility to continue helping us aim for the success they got us to.”
