Six players agreed to one-year contracts with the Moose, while veteran homegrown defenceman Peter Stoykewych signed on for two seasons.
Stoykewych, now 25, has played his previous three seasons in Manitoba, putting together 14 goals and 55 points in nearly 200 AHL contests. The Winnipegger finished the year a plus-28, highest on the team. He will be under contract with the Moose until the conclusion of the 2019-20 season.
On Tuesday the Moose also signed goaltender Ken Appleby (23), defenceman Charles-David Beaudoin (24), defenceman Jacob Cederholm (20), forward Kristian Reichel (20), forward Matt Ustaski (24) and defenceman Justin Woods (24) to one-year deals.
Beaudoin, Cederholm, Ustaski and Woods each saw time with Manitoba last season, while Appleby split his time between New Jersey and Binghamton, and Reichel played for the WHL’s Red Deer Rebels.
Manitoba will look to improve upon their third place finish from the 2017-18 season in the coming year, however, the Moose will have some fresh faces in their division as the 2018-19 re-alignment saw some movement within the Central Division. The AHL’s regular season will get underway in the first week of October.
