Kennedy – an 18-year-old product of Manitoba AAA – spent the last two seasons playing midget hockey with the Winnipeg Thrashers. After three years with the AAA Hawks where he put up 56 goals and 99 points, the 6-foot-1, 185-pound winger collected 27 goals, 57 points and 26 penalty minutes in 79 games with the Thrashers.

Property of the MMJHL’s Raiders Jr. Hockey Club, Kennedy dressed in one game for the Raiders in 2017-18, scoring one goal and adding two assists in an impressive debut.

Kennedy joins an Opaskwayak Cree Nation Blizzard team who finished the 2017-18 season right in the middle of the pack with a 32-20-8 record. OCN was eliminated from the quarterfinals after dropping their opening postseason series to the Winkler Flyers 4-2.
