Poolman – a Grand Forks, MN. native – made his NHL debut for the Jets in 2017-18, collecting one goal and one assist in 24 games for the big league club. He also dressed in 17 games for the Manitoba Moose this past season, putting up another goal to go along with nine assists.
After spending two years in the United States Hockey League with Omaha, Poolman played Division 1 hockey for the University of North Dakota, dressing in 118 games over the course of three seasons. He scored 20 times, while totalling 72 points and 34 penalty minutes in his NCAA career.
The former fifth round draft pick (2013) also dressed in two first round playoff games for Winnipeg – against his native Minnesota Wild – in 2017-18. Poolman is expected to do battle with Joe Morrow, Ben Chiarot and Sami Niku for the sixth and final defensive spot on the Jets’ blueline in 2018-19.
