The Yellowhead Chiefs walked away with both honours, building off of forward Juliana Davis and netminder Sadie McIntosh’s strong October performances. Davis, a senior student from Onanole, continues to lead the league with seven goals, while McIntosh of Neepawa, holds the league lead with four victories.
Davis put up four points this past week, scoring in Yellowhead’s 2-1 loss to the Capitals on Saturday, before picking up another two tallies and adding an assist in Sunday’s shootout loss to the Hawks. After registering just five goals and eight points in 2017-18, Davis is off to a flying start this year.
The Chiefs have relied quite heavily on McIntosh in 2018-19. The 17-year-old has picked up wins in four of her six contests, and has recorded shutout victories in three of four. In October, McIntosh put up an incredible stat-line, featuring a .959 save percentage and a 1.17 goals against average. She finished 2017-18 with a .918 save percentage and a 2.18 goals against average.
