True North Sports & Entertainment has begun its 2018 Toy Drive. Opening this past Wednesday during the Winnipeg Jets’ home game against the visiting Washington Capitals, the drive runs for a duration of 26 days through December 9th.
Fans attending Jets games are encouraged to bring new, unwrapped toys and cash donations to deposit into the toy bins in advance of puck drop up until December 9th. Winnipeg will host Philadelphia on the 9th, in which the drive will culminate on Jets Toy Drive Game Night.
For those unable to attend games between now and December 9th, toys and monetary donations can still be made at Jets Gear or select insurance brokers. All toys and cash will go to the Christmas Cheer Board, who will, in turn, provide hampers and cash to local families struggling with the costs associated with the holiday season.
Just last year in 2017, the Jets Toy Drive collected approximately 1,900 toys, while also picking up $5,500.
