The Rink Hockey Academy’s Eric Alarie has joined the Western Hockey League’s Moose Jaw Warriors.

Winnipeg’s Alarie Joins Moose Jaw Warriors

After finding himself drafted in the first round to Moose Jaw in the 2018 WHL Bantam Draft, Alarie’s recent play with the Nationals has earned himself a call up to the WHL team currently boasting six other rostered Manitobans. The 15-year-old made the trek out west and joined the Warriors at the Brandt Centre for their Friday night showdown with the Regina Pats.

In 24 regular season games with RHA in 2018-19, Alarie has 10 goals and 27 points. The Winnipeg product leads the prep team in scoring this season, after coming off of a 28-goal, 55-point bantam year in which he suited up for 30 regular season contests.

The 6-foot-1, 185-point forward skated in his first career WHL game Friday night for Moose Jaw, where he finished the game a minus-1 and won one face-off. Used very little, the goal scorer was not deemed as a threat in his first bit of junior hockey action. Alarie and the Warriors will complete the second leg of a home-and-home on Saturday evening as Moose Jaw hosts Regina from Mosaic Place at 7:00 P.M. central.
