After putting up just two goals and five points in November, McCorrister tore it up in the final month of the 2018 calendar year. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound forward began the month with a hat trick in Swift Current, before tallying three more markers to finish December with six goals and eight points in eight games – leading all Wheat Kings’ players in goals.
The product of Peguis First Nation also shot the puck significantly more in December than past months, putting up 35 shots on net in eight games, compared to 29 shots in 10 November games, 19 shots in 10 October games and nine shots in three September games. Sometimes shooting the puck more pays off; this couldn’t be more true of McCorrister.
The 20-year-old former Swan Valley Stampeder now has 11 goals and 23 points in 31 games for Brandon this season. In 161 career WHL games, McCorrister has found the twine 36 times, while adding on 44 assists.
