The Chicago Wolves are the latest victim of a red-hot Manitoba Moose hockey club.

Manitoba Moose Streaking at Home

The Moose hosted the Wolves from Bell MTS Place on Wednesday evening for the first of two home contests this week with their Central Division rival. The game also marked the third of six-straight games played at home for Manitoba – all of which have been wins.

As a matter of fact, with their victory on Wednesday, the Moose are now 10-0-1 in their last 11 games at Bell MTS Place, actually performing better than the hometown warrior Winnipeg Jets, who are just 8-2-1 in their last 11 in Manitoba. Both the Moose and Jets are 8-0-1 at home since the new year begun.

Wednesday’s contest saw a Moose team jump out to an early lead and protect it over the course of the game, beating the third-place Wolves will a well-rounded game, outshooting their opponents 29-22, while killing two of three penalties on the evening.

Manitoba’s goals came from Jansen Harkins, Hunter Fejes, Marko Dane and Michael Spacek, while Chicago’s Daniel Carr and Curtis McKenzie tallied late in the third period for the visitors. Tucker Poolman’s 12th assist of the season extended his point streak to six games (one goal, six assists). Eric Comrie stopped 20 of 22 pucks, while the Moose improved their record to 23-21-3-2 on the season. They next host these same Wolves on Friday evening from Bell MTS Place. Puck drop is set for 7:00 PM central.
