The Pas Product Signs With Minnesota Wild

On Tuesday afternoon the Minnesota Wild announced that the club had signed its 2018 third round selection to a standard two-way, entry-level contract with a cap hit of $750K, beginning in the 2019-20 season. The 19-year-old forward has played both left wing and centre in his four-year Western Hockey League career.

Currently serving as the first-year captain of the WHL’s Everett Silvertips, Dewar has 34 goals and 76 points in 55 league games in 2018-19. Even after losing all-star goaltender Carter Hart after the 2017-18 season, Dewar and the Silvertips are first in the Western Conference and second only to the Prince Albert Raiders in the WHL through 63 games this season.

Dewar put up 35 goals and 66 points in 32 AAA Bantam games with Parkland, before adding another 15 goals and 37 points in Midget AAA. The 5-foot-11, 180-pound forward made the leap to the WHL, where he has spent the last 100 games producing at nearly a 1.20 point-per-game rate. He has 97 goals and 192 points in 266 career WHL contests.
