Following the completion of Brock University’s 2018-19 regular season, the 22-year-old product of Calgary, AB. was named the Ontario University Athletics Rookie of the Year, the OUA Goaltender of the Year, while being selected as a First Team All-Star.

The 6-foot-3, 180-pound netminder who spent the better part of three seasons backstopping Manitoba’s Brandon Wheat Kings, enjoyed an extremely successful freshman campaign for the Brock Badgers. He picked up 18 wins in 24 starts, going 18-6-0 in the process, while placing second in the league with a 2.22 goals against average, and third in save percentage (.934).

Thompson is currently studying Social Sciences at Brock, while putting up all-star numbers. He had three shutouts, and boasted a .750 win percentage in his rookie season; Thompson turned aside 770 shots, while only giving up 54 goals all season.

Just last week, the WHL champion signed a professional contract with the Adirondack Thunder the East Coast Hockey League affiliate team of the New Jersey Devils.
