On Monday, the Jets’ second-year forward was named the league’s First Star of the Week. Connor’s five-goal, eight-point weekly performance was the league’s best, while his current 32 goals and 61 points are new career highs.
The 22-year-old began his week with a one-goal, two-point showing against the Los Angeles Kings on Monday. Connor then matched that point production on Wednesday in Anaheim against the Ducks.
The Michigan product failed to score a point on Thursday in Vegas, but capped off his week by factoring in on four of Winnipeg’s five goals in a 5-0 home victory over the Nashville Predators Saturday evening. He finished his night by scoring his first career hat trick by beating Pekka Rinne with just eight seconds remaining.

Saturday also marked the second-straight season in which Connor has hit the 30-goal mark. Now with seven games remaining in the 2018-19 season, the dynamic goal scorer has a chance to further up his career highs.
Connor now joins Mark Scheifele (First Star once, Second Star twice), Blake Wheeler (Second Star twice), Jack Roslovic (First Star) and Patrik Laine (First Star) as Jets to have earned the NHL’s weekly award.
