Moose Buckle Down For Playoff Push

With eight regular season games left to play, the Manitoba Moose continue to find themselves right in the thick of things of the upcoming American Hockey League Calder Cup playoff race. Currently sitting at 34-28-4-2 on the season, the Moose are one point back of the fourth-place Texas Stars, with two games in hand.

Despite carrying the lowest total of goals for (173) amongst teams battling for playoff positioning, Manitoba continues to find victories in close, low-scoring matchups. The Moose once again proved victorious over the San Antonio Rampage 2-1 Friday evening in Texas, and will look to do further damage in Saturday’s contest.

Following the two-game weekend set against the Rampage, Manitoba will return to Bell MTS Place for the final four home games of the season, hosting both the Bakersfield Condors and the Stockton Heat twice this coming week. The Condors are first place in the Pacific Division, while Stockton is second from the bottom.

Since Christmas the Moose are 16-2-1-1 at Bell MTS Place, where they hope to build upon their success this coming week. With wild card seating left up for grabs, Manitoba’s upcoming Tuesday and Wednesday evening home games will be very critical matchups. Puck drop for both games is set for 7:00 PM central, while Saturday and Sunday’s matinee matchups will be held at 2:00 PM. The Moose will then head out on the road for three games in three days to complete the 2018-19 season.
