The 25-year-old re-upped with the Sens on a one-year, $725K deal for the upcoming 2019-20 season. The contract is a bit of a raise from his two-year deal with Ottawa from the 2017-2019 seasons in which he took home $70K playing in the minors. This deal will see Rodewald earn $100K if playing the season with the Senators’ American Hockey League affiliate in Belleville.
Rodewald, a former AAA bantam Winnipeg Monarch, dressed in 59 AHL contests in 2018-19, putting up 23 goals and 47 points for the ‘Baby Sens’. For the second-straight season, the 6-foot-2, 190-pound winger earned a call up to play for Ottawa, skating in six games with the Senators. Through 10 career NHL games, Rodewald is still searching for his first career point.

The former Regina Pat and Moose Jaw Warrior was drafted in the eighth round of the 2009 WHL Bantam Draft, and signed as a free agent with the Senators after going undrafted in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft and spending the following two seasons between the AHL and the East Coast Hockey League. Rodewald put up 140 points in his final 129 WHL games, before going on to be a 0.5 point-per-game player in the AHL, currently holding 55 goals and 101 points in 203 regular season contests.
