The host Balmoral Hall Blazers will welcome the Pacific Steelers (Richmond, BC), the Ottawa Lady 67s (Ottawa, ON), the Ridley College Tigers (St. Catharines, ON) and the Thunder Bay Queens (Thunder Bay, ON) to Manitoba’s capital for weekend of league play from Thursday, November 14 to Sunday, November 17.
The 2018-19 JWHL champion Blazers will host each team once, playing one game every day of the four-day schedule, including an afternoon contest on Friday and a morning game on Sunday. Each of the four Canadian visiting teams will also play each opponent this weekend, for a total of 10 games played at the Iceplex.
The Junior Women’s Hockey League and its member teams travel across North America playing at host locations as ‘miniature series’ throughout the hockey calendar. After having opened the 2019-20 season with a four-game series in Massachusetts in the beginning of October, Balmoral Hall has since stayed dormant, preparing for their homecoming this weekend. Following the four games in Winnipeg, the Blazers will begin a four-game series next weekend at the University of Ottawa in Ontario.
