The Manitoba Moose have won seven-straight games and now boast a 9-1-0 record through the first 22 days of November.
For the seventh-straight game, netminder Mikhail Berdin outduelled his counterpart Wednesday evening, en route to a tight 2-1 victory over the Belleville Senators. Jansen Harkins extended his league-long point streak to 10 games, while the Moose limited their opponent to two or less goals for the seventh-straight time.
Recent signee Nathan Todd opened the scoring for Manitoba, jumping on a Nelson Nogier rebound just three minutes into the contest. Emile Poirier extended the Moose’s lead to 2-0 late in the opening frame, in which Harkins picked up the lone assist.
Jordan Szwarz gave the Senators their only goal of the game just moments into the third period, but Berdin held down the fort for the remainder of the game, shutting down every other Belleville opportunity. The reigning AHL Player of the Week turned aside 38 of 39 shots he faced, upping his totals to 253 saves on 259 shots in his past seven games, pushing his save percentage to .977.
The 10-8-0 Moose now travel to Toronto for back-to-back 3:00 PM central afternoon contests on Saturday and Sunday to open a six-game road trip. All games can be viewed live on AHL TV.
