The Manitoba Junior Hockey League has announced its Three Stars of the Week, with Nakodan Greyes, Mikol Sartor and Jayden McCarthy taking the weekly honours.
The three 2001-born offensive forwards combined for 22 points in just 10 total games played this past week, combining to produce at over a goal-per-game rate.
Greyeyes continues to lead the MJHL in scoring with 16 goals and 45 points in 26 games for the Dauphin Kings, while Sartor is just behind him, leading the Winnipeg Blues with 11 goals and 32 points in 27 games played. McCarthy has 16 goals and 30 points in 26 games for the Winkler Flyers – sitting just one point back of team leader Drake Burgin of the team lead.
In three games for the Kings, Greyeyes had four goals and eight points, scoring a goal and two assists agains the Neepawa Natives, before adding three goals and two assists in a five-point night against the Winkler Flyers.
Sartor scored a point in three of his four games played, in fact, the Winnipeg product put up multi-point efforts in each of the three games in which he found the scoresheet. After registering two assists against the Portage Terriers, he scored a goal and an assist against Selkirk, before adding two more tallies against Neepawa.
McCarthy, a product of Morris, began his week with a bang, scoring a hat trick while adding an assist against the Steelers, before putting up two-point nights against Neepawa and Dauphin to round out his strong week of MJHL play.
