This past week, the Western Hockey League’s Tri-City Americans revealed the results of the club’s online vote to help determine the Americans’ ‘All-Decade Team’ from the years 2010-2020.
“In celebrating the past 10 years of Tri-City Americans hockey, fans cast over 500 ballots last week to help us select the best Americans players from the past 10 seasons,” the Americans wrote in a news release. “The top two goaltenders, 12 forwards, and six defensemen with the most votes were selected.”
Included in that list of 20 players were seven that went on to be selected in the NHL Entry Draft, 13 who have gone on to play professionally up until the 2020 season, two who are set to play AHL hockey and four who are suiting up with U-Sports in Canada.
Known for a number of years as a team that got much of its offensive firepower from Manitoba, five different players with connections to the province were also included on the All-Decade Team roster. Those players are listed below, with stat breakdowns courtesy of Tri-City.
