On Sunday afternoon, the American Hockey League’s Manitoba Moose announced its training camp roster, schedule and three additional roster moves. Officially opening on-ice training sessions on Monday, the participating players have been notified, with an additional contract and two professional tryouts also having been haded out.
Included within the 15 players on the Moose training camp roster is eight forwards, five defencemen and two goaltenders. The two PTO invitees are forwards Brett Davis and Nick Jones. Davis, 21, is an Oakbank product and former NHL draft pick of the Dallas Stars. Jones, 24, is a former University of North Dakota star. Altona’s Cole Kehler earned a one-year contract with the team following a successful Jets training camp PTO.
Although taking on the contract assignments of three Vancouver Canucks players through a new Canadian affiliate agreement this past week (not included on the training camp roster), the Moose have a pool of 15 players on board for training camp and the upcoming 2020-21 regular season. The new partnership with the Canucks allows the loan of forward Tyler Graovac, defenceman Ashton Sautner and goaltender Arturs Silovs to Manitoba.
