The Central Plains Capitals are in need of coaches for four teams for the upcoming 2021-22. According to Central Plains Minor Hockey, coaching applications for the regional AAA Capitals teams are now being accepted for the coming season.
Central Plains is home to six arenas within Portage la Prairie, MacGregor, Gladstone, Oakville and St. Eustache. Applications are being accepted for the following four teams:
U15 AAA Central Plains Female Capitals
U15 AAA Central Plains Male Capitals
U18 AAA Central Plains Female Capitals
U18 AAA Central Plains Male Capitals
Deadline for submissions is April 15th, 2021 however submissions will be accepted by Central Plains Minor Hockey until the positions are filled.
“Applicants must possess a high level of proficiency and understanding of the various Hockey Canada pathways,” a statement from Central Plains Minor Hockey read. “Coaches will be organized, have high ethical standards, be committed to player development and have a general understanding of child development levels.”
Qualified individuals considering application are to have completed the appropriate coaching certification program as described in the Hockey Manitoba Coaching Requirements for the 2021-22 season.
“Central Plains coaching staffs report directly to the Central Plains “AAA” Council under the guidance of the Central Plains Board,” the statement continued. “With the high level of time and effort required to operate/coach “AAA” programs coaching staffs are provided with a fair honorarium based on their experience/qualifications as determined by the Central Plains Region.”

Seasonal plans may be required upon interview, while a full list of assistant coaches and full bench staff is asked for if part of the equation. Successful applicants will be contacted.
