The National Hockey League has announced its schedule for the 2021 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Beginning on Saturday with Zdeno Chara and the Washington Capitals hosting the Boston Bruins, the opening round will run through the end of May, with a potential Game 7 between Toronto and Montreal landing on May 31.
Winnipeg and Edmonton will do battle in the first round, with the Oilers owning home-ice advantage through the potential seven-game series. Starting in Edmonton for the opening two games, the Jets and Oilers will then travel to Bell MTS Place for games three and four. If needed, games five, six and seven will alternate venues, beginning in Alberta.
Edmonton owns a season series record of 7-2-0 against the Jets this year, while outscoring Winnipeg 34-22 on the season. After earning victories in two of three games to start the season against Edmonton, Winnipeg fell flat, dropping six-straight games to Connor McDavid and the Oilers.
