20 Manitobans Honoured with Scholarships by Hockey Manitoba

Every year, the governing body of hockey within the province of Manitoba presents 20 graduating players with post-secondary scholarships – totalling $16,500 – for the coming 2021-22 school calendar year. These scholarships range in dollar value from $500 to $1,500 and are named after prominent Manitobans that have made significant contributions in the hockey/educational realm.

“The game of hockey provides many teachable moments and some equally valuable life lessons,” a Hockey Manitoba release read. “In addition to the on-ice experiences and enjoyment, Hockey Manitoba also recognizes the importance of a strong educational foundation… and has chosen to name many of its scholarships after the following outstanding members to leave a lasting legacy in their honour.”

To read the full bios of each scholarship recipient, visit the Hockey Manitoba website.
