MJHL Releases 2021-22 Regular Season Schedule and Information

The Manitoba Junior Hockey League has released its regular season schedule and important dates for the upcoming 2021-22 season. Along with schedule format, division alignment and scheduling formats were also released.

This news comes following a year that saw the season put on hold, before ultimately being cancelled – alongside the playoffs – as the COVID-19 pandemic wore on.

The MJHL will see an opening weekend of Friday, September 17 to Sunday, September 19, to which all 12 member teams will participate in a home-and-home battle over the course of the weekend.

OCN will battle Swan Valley in the very first game of the season at 7:00 PM central, while Steinbach/Selkirk, Dauphin/Neepawa and Waywayseecappo/Virden get underway a half hour later on Friday. The battle of Winnipeg will see the Blues host the Freeze at 8:00 PM.

The league will see each team play 54 games during 2021-22, with its 12 teams divided into two, six-team divisions, organized geographically. 40 of those games will be divisional matchups, while 14 games will come against teams outside of the division. The holiday break will run from December 19, 2021 to January 3, 2022.
