The Manitoba Moose – in conjunction with the American Hockey League – have announced the team’s full 72-game 2021-22 regular season schedule, set to begin on October 16 at Cola-Cola Coliseum in Toronto against the Marlies.

In making their return to the Central Division for the coming season of play, the Moose will only see 16 total games against fellow Canadian-based clubs, as compared to the full 36-game schedule against Canadian Division teams from last year.

Much like the team’s parent club, Manitoba begins the year on a three-game road trip with stops in Toronto (October 16 & 17) and Laval (October 20), before returning home to host the Grand Rapids Griffins in its home opener on October 22 from its new home, the Canada Life Centre.

With an even 36-36 home/road game split in 2021-22, Moose fans will remain accustomed to weekend puck drops, as 28 of the 36 home dates are on Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays this year. 18 of the 28 games also feature 2:00 PM start times. The Moose will also play holiday games on New Year’s Eve (Dec. 31), Louis Riel Day (Feb. 21) and Good Friday (April 15).

56 of the team’s 72 games come against Central Division opponents, meaning the Grand Rapids Griffins, Chicago Wolves, Iowa Wild, Milwaukee Admirals, Rockford IceHogs and Texas Stars will be likely opponents for most of the season. Fans of the Moose will see the brand new Abbotsford Canucks for the first time on December 30 from Canada Life Centre.

The team’s longest homestand is a lengthy nine-game stay in Manitoba from February 20 to March 12 (which occurs with some overlap due to the NHL’s Olympic Break), while the team also has a six-game homestand from late-January to early-February. Following the extended homestand, the Moose will hit the road for their longest road trip of the year (seven games) from March 15-26.

Finishing the shortened 2020-21 campaign second in the Canadian Division with an 18-13-5 record, the Moose will look to maintain their strong play over the course of a full season schedule beginning on October 16.
