Lorette’s Kennedy Hauser Commits to Jamestown

The U-18 AAA Manitoba Female Hockey League continues to see its players sign commitment letters for the 2022-23 calendar year. This time it was the Eastman Selects that saw one of its star players agree to terms on a futures deals in the United States.

This past week, the Selects announced that forward Kennedy Hauser has officially signed her letter of intent with the incoming Division I University of Jamestown Jimmies, which will begin play in North Dakota within the American College Hockey Association next year.

A new Division I program for 2022-23, the Jimmies are in the mid-stages of filling out their roster for the coming year. Last month, it was Pembina Valley Hawks forwards Cambree Martens and Anika Braun who joined the program, while this month it is Kennedy Hauser.

The 17-year-old has spent the past three years with the Eastman Selects of Manitoba’s U-18 AAA Female Hockey League. Albeit, 2020-21 was a shortened season, Hauser still managed an offensive output of three goals and two penalty minutes in six contests that season.

The 5-foot-7, 140-pound senior has three goals, eight points and four penalty minutes in 14 contests so far in 2021-22, her final year within the league. Hauser attends Lorette Collegiate in her hometown, where she continues to serve as an honour roll student.

With signing season fully underway, the MFHL continues to breed a heavy crop of talent for American university programs across the United States.

“The MFHL congratulates Kennedy on her outstanding accomplishments to date during her U18 “AAA” career,” the league wrote in a statement. “We wish her all the best with her future academic and hockey endeavours while at the University of Jamestown.”
