Budweiser Signs Brady Tkachuk Following Game 1 Performance

‘Do what you’re good at’, they say.

Well for Ottawa Senators captain Brady Tkachuk, it appears as though his best skills are that of drinking beer.

Sure, he may be one of the NHL’s top players, but his true skill set lies somewhere off the ice.

The younger brother of Matthew Tkachuk and father Keith Tkachuk, the apple really hasn’t fallen far from the tree.

After having shown his support for his older brother and his Flames teammates in Calgary’s Round 1 series with the Dallas Stars, the younger Tkachuk put his talents on full display at the Saddledome during the first game between the Flames and Edmonton Oilers in the Battle of Alberta.

Yes, it was quite the performance from Tkachuk.

On Friday, Budweiser Canada swooped in and agreed to terms with Tkachuk on a formal contract, following what they say was a dominant Game 1.

“BREAKING: Ink is Dry,” Budweiser wrote. “After his epic performance in Game 1, Budweiser has officially signed Brady Tkachuk. That’s what Buds do. Battle of Alberta, let’s go!”

If that’s not marketing genius at its finest, we really aren’t sure what is.

Game 2 of the Battle of Alberta goes Friday night in Calgary, featuring a 9:30 PM central start time. The game can be viewed live on Sportsnet. There is little doubt that both Tkachuks will have a key role in the outcome of the contest.
