Jets Recall Kristian Reichel from Moose

On Tuesday, the Winnipeg Jets announced the club had recalled forward Kristian Reichel from the Manitoba Moose.

Operating under the 23-player maximum due to various injuries, Reichel’s recall comes on the heels of the announcement that fellow youngster Cole Perfetti would be missing roughly 7-10 days as he continues to recover from a recent injury.

In 25 games for the Moose this season, the 24-year-old Reichel has scored twice while adding another six assists for eight points. He scored and added an assist in 13 games with Winnipeg last year.

The recall, however, was only precautionary, as Reichel joined his mates on the ice for pre-game warmup, but did not skate in the line rushes, to which he ended up back in the dressing room as the rest of his mates took to the ice for the game.

A bottom-six resembling that of most AHL squads, Winnipeg will roll with Morgan Barron, Michael Eyssimont, Kevin Stenlund, David Gustafsson, Axel Jonsson-Fjallby and Jansen Harkins as the Jets host the Vancouver Canucks in what will be Sam Gagner’s 1,000th career NHL game.

Puck drop is set for 7:00 PM central time from Canada Life Centre. The game can be viewed live on TSN.
