Jets Lose Eyssimont to Waivers, Gain Four Back from Injury

The Winnipeg Jets have lost the services of forward Michael Eyssimont.

Having placed the young forward on Waivers for the purpose of being re-assigned to the American Hockey League, Eyssimont did not make it through, as fellow Western Conference opponent San Jose swept and picked up the 26-year-old free of charge.

For the Jets, it was a casualty brought on by elevated play by other depth players, paired with the return of four healthy regulars from the injured reserve.

With Blake Wheeler, Cole Perfetti, Blake Wheeler and Nate Schmidt all returning to the lineup for Winnipeg on Friday, a move needed to be made in order to accommodate the injured bodies. And when Mason Appleton, Saku Maenalanen and Logan Stanley each make their respective ways off the injured reserve.

Eyssimont, who had two goals and nine points in nine games with the Moose to start the season, earned a recall and managed a goal and five points over 19 games with the Jets before becoming a bit of a press box staple the past two weeks.

He will look to help out a struggling San Jose offence that has little other than Erik Kalrsson and Tomas Hertl going for it.

Winnipeg faces the Tampa Bay Lightning on Friday night at 7:00 PM central time.
